BIOHAZARD

Rich Knip's 1988 Chevy S-10 has came along way from being a stock truck to becoming BIOHAZARD. Rich started off with a basic S-10 with a 4 cylinder 5 speed, and then decided for a Chevy 305 ci engine and automatic trans.
Wanting the truck lower, Rich used BellTech componets lowering the truck 3 inches in the front and 4 in the rear, and replaced the stock rims & tires with Weld Racing 17 inch "Arrowhead" rims and 205/40/17 BF Goodrich "Scorcher" tires in blue. Adding to the rims he tops them off with 15" chrome disc brake simulators by APC Products.
Keeping with the modifications Rich added a chrome Toyota bumper and lower valance. Then he added clear marker lamp lenses by FBI Inc. Then Rich added a windowless topper, and he had the body totaly shaved of the handles and smoothed the tailgate, and adding to that he put on a Sir Michael's roll pan in the rear. The big modifactions are that Rich has done is make his S-10 a "walk through" from the front to the back, and also made his truck a convertible.
The paint work is very eye catching. The paint job consists of fifteen colors of PPG paint. The main scheme is magenta drips falling over a bahama blue background. The bottom of the truck is covered with a flourescent green acid that is eating a Chevy bowtie and a BIOHAZARD sign. There a various different hues of "abstract" graphics mixed throughout. There is also a Rockford Fosgate tribal logo on the hood and a BIOHAZARD symbol mural on the tailgate. All sealed by several coats of PPG clearcoat.
The interior consists of over thirty yards of blue and gray tweed. The seats are from a GTA Firebird and have been recovered in tweed to match. The steering wheel and dash kit are all polished Billet aluminum. The custom center console is built to house the Camaro floor shifter. The whole interior is hand sewn with a very unique 3-D drip effect highlighted with foam sculpting.
The heart of BIOHAZARD is a twenty speaker, 5,000 watt Rockford Fosgate and Eclipse Stereo system. It consists of ten front stage speakers, four rear stage speakers and six monster twelve inch power series subs. A motorized amp rack houses the four power amps that draw current from four one-farad caps, five Optima gell cell batteries and a custom made 225 amp Wrangler alternator. Signal is produced by an Eclipse CD player and is fed through a Rockford Fosgate Symmetry system. For pics of the system, check out the stereo installs section, the first three pics show the interior and sub box. The entire system is highlighted by Bad Boys neon and strobe lights. Electronic accuators open both doors, a custom R/F diamond shaped amp rack and the lexan rear window. All of the electronics are controlled through a Viper car alarm with remote start for added show points.
BIOHAZARD'S major awards and accomplishments are second place World of Wheels Chicago 1998, first place World of Wheels Chicago 1999. Numerous first place awards for DB Drags and audio sound offs. 1998 Car Stereo Warlord. Numerous best paint and best interior awards. The stereo has produced as high as 153.8 db. It has stress cracked the fiberglass topper and cracked the windsheild of the truck.
